17th-century French Double

17th-century French Double by Robert Duffy, 2016, after originals such as Vaudry, Denis and the anonymous 1667 in the MFA.

Brass strung, it sports a widened case to accommodate a range of GG-d”’, plus transposition 415/440. The instrument produces a big sound, with an especially warm and sustaining back eight-foot register.

This harpsichord is for sale for $20,000, or best offer. You can see and hear a video of it here.
