My Harpsichords

I believe the instruments one performs are inevitably at the center of any successful performance, regardless of instrument or genre. As Alfred Brendel once said, “If you don’t have an instrument you can rely on the, the instrument plays you.” But beyond quality, the importance of instrument choice is, I believe, even more important when it comes to harpsichord performances of 17th-century French lute and harpsichord music.

Since no one instrument can best serve all music, owning and using different instruments for different repertoire is an ideal set-up.
